Steampunk WB6 theme WIP

May 22nd, 2008

I’ve finally started my WIndowBlinds 6 Steampunk theme. It will be full of brassy, steamy goodness, with a wonderful dose of awesome as well! No screen shots just yet, like I said I just started, but very soon, gentle reader, very soon.

WindowBlinds is an application developed by the skinning freaks at StarDock that does an incredible job of theming your entire Windows environment. They also have a ton of other products for changing icons, sounds, cursors, etc. Yes, once done with the theme, I will be creating a suite which will include icons, cursors and more! Stay tuned!

Big news on themes

May 13th, 2008

The Cascadian iGoogle theme is finally available for use in the iGoogle theme directory, and my Steampunk theme now has over 8,000 users! Thanks to everyone for your comments, contacts and support. I’m going to be working on some more Steampunk stuff in the near future.

New poster design

May 7th, 2008

Miles to GoMiles to go is a poster featuring a fractal work I titled Winter, when I first made it, combined with one of my favorite poems. This is available as a poster from Deviant Art.

New link added

April 30th, 2008

I recently discovered a great website for both 2D and 3D artists, The Gnomon Workshop, and have added a link to their site on the links page. Not only do they have some fantastic educational DVDs on just about every technique and app available, from rendering liquids in Maya to tattooing, but they also got some amazing free tutorials as well!

iGoogle artist themes

April 30th, 2008

Google has finally activated their iGoogle “Artist Themes” section where you can now pick up themes by world-class artists and innovators (their words, not mine) as Rolf Harris,  Cold Play, Dolce & Gabbana , Jackie Chan and the Wiggles. I’m sure it’ll sound like sour grapes, but it is tough enough getting your theme noticed when it takes three weeks for the list to get updated and yours is among some very good ones and a lot crappy ones, but now it is that much tougher. I guess I’ve really got to step up my game a bit.  For some reason, Cascadian didn’t make it onto this round of additions (but the Wiggles did!), so I’m going to keep it as an inThemes exclusive theme.
